In America we spend over 2.3 trillion dollars a year on health care, yet there are still over 47 million of us without health insurance. The national rate of premature births is over 12 percent; 17 percent for African Americans. One out of every two people over the age of 65 will need long term care at some point in their lives. And the 'baby boom' generation is about to retire.

These are just some of the problems we’re working on at Amerigroup’s Public Policy Institute. Our challenge is to think big: to identify, evaluate, and demonstrate efficient, effective solutions that help people live healthier, more independent lives and make a positive difference in our communities and our country.
