Helping to create healthy communities is the cornerstone of the Amerigroup Foundation's mission. Our objective is to serve as a national resource that fosters an environment where there is a continuum of education, access and care, all of which improve the health and well-being of the financially vulnerable and uninsured Americans.

Breakfast of Champions
The Amerigroup Foundation honored 15 organizations and individuals who have made a difference in the community as part of its first-ever “Breakfast of Champions.” Four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield joined the Foundation in recognizing these local “champions.” The celebration marked the 15th anniversary of Amerigroup Corporation (photos at right).

Grommet Park Groundbreaking
The Amerigroup Foundation teamed up with the ALS Association in support of a 4k walk, groundbreaking and beach party to benefit the Grommet Island park project -- a first of its kind, 100 percent handicap-accessible oceanfront destination -- in Virginia Beach.

Grant Limitations
Generally, we do not support:
- Projects or organizations that offer a direct benefit to the trustees of the Foundation or to employees or directors of Amerigroup
- Projects or organizations that might in any way pose a conflict with Amerigroup's mission, goals, programs, products or employees
- Projects or organizations that do not benefit a broad cross section of the community
- Individuals
- Political parties, candidates or lobbying activities
- Benefits, raffles, souvenir programs, trips, tours or similar events
- For-profit entities, including start-up businesses
Also, please note:
- We only give to 501(c)3 and government organizations
- We do not visit sites or schedule meetings unless requested by the Foundation
