Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

James W. Truess is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Amerigroup, overseeing all aspects of the Company’s financial operations.  Mr. Truess has enjoyed a two-decade career in financial roles, including the past 19 years in the managed care industry, and the last 12 years as a Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to joining Amerigroup, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Group Health Cooperative, one of the largest vertically integrated health maintenance organizations in the country.  Mr. Truess holds a master’s degree in Finance from Seattle University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
