Being a good neighbor

Communities are not just where you are, they are part of who you are. That is why at Amerigroup we value our role as a good corporate citizen and give back to our communities.

Through state governments and providers, we are able to provide quality health care services for our members and help them lead healthier, more independent lives. But we don’t stop there…

Our Amerigroup Foundation is dedicated to assisting organizations and communities in need by contributing to positive change in the communities where our members and associates live, work and play.

We prosper by providing our 4,100 associates with a great working environment, and celebrating the diversity of our members as well as our associates.

At Amerigroup, we take great pride in our corporate social responsibility and volunteer efforts. Our volunteer initiative, known to employees as “Real Caring,” is Amerigroup’s formalized program to capture the spirit of passion and compassion we bring to helping the communities where we work, live and serve. One key element of our employee volunteer program is the Amerigroup Disaster Response Team. Visit Real Caring to find out more about these unique endeavors.

And, though it’s not recognition that motivates the employees, others have taken notice: In 2009, our program received the Governor’s Volunteerism and Community Service Award in our home state of Virginia. Ethics

Ethics remain our compass in our mission to make a difference.

As a team, we are committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards as we conduct business, and maintaining a work environment that promotes and requires compliance with applicable governing laws.

To ensure we maintain our ethical standards, we have a dedicated Office of Business Ethics, with specifically designated associates for all Amerigroup offices to report to (ethics@amerigroupcorp.com), and our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics is readily available for all associates. This Code reflects Amerigroup's mission and values, holding each person and entity accountable for their actions and/or omissions as part of Amerigroup's day-to-day operations.

For anonymous compliance reporting or questions, visit amerigroup.silentwhistle.com or www.silentwhistle.com. Amerigroup associates may also make an anonymous compliance report using Amerigroup's external hotline, call 1-877-660-7890.

Amerigroup prohibits retaliation against any individual who in good faith reports suspected misconduct or participates in a compliance investigation. The Compliance Officer and any individual assisting with a compliance investigation will maintain the confidentiality of the individual filing the compliance report to the extent allowed under exists laws, regulations and rules.

Office of Business Ethics (OBE)

The Compliance Program, headed by the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), is supported by Plan Compliance Officers (PCOs). All Amerigroup associates are encouraged to contact the CCO, a member of the OBE or their PCO to address compliance related concerns and to report suspected violations of policy or law.
